We’re extremely proud of our academic results and pastoral care which shine through in our inspection report. Below are some of the highlights:
Overall conclusion
“St Colette’s meets its aims and aspirations to a considerable degree. In a nurturing family atmosphere where they receive excellent standards of care, pupils flourish, growing considerably in self-confidence and self-esteem. They benefit from the good educational experiences provided and achieve well both academically and in their activities, thanks to the good teaching they receive. Pupils leave the school happy, polite and articulate, well prepared for the next stage of their education. Parents are enthusiastic about the quality of education their children enjoy and form a significant partnership with the school.“
Pupils’ Learning and Achievements
“Standardised tests confirm that attainment by the time pupils leave is well above national norms and good in relation to their ability. Each year a significant number of pupils achieve considerable success in activities.”
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development of Pupils
“Personal growth is a strong feature of the school and helps pupils develop their good spiritual awareness.“
“Excellent social development is a result of the broad range of opportunities provided for pupils to learn to play their part in the community.”
“Pupils experience and learn about their own culture through art, music, literature and drama and are beginning to understand the diversity of culture in Britain and the world in which they live; they are clearly respectful of the different cultural heritages that they encounter at school.”
The Quality of Pastoral Care, and the Welfare, Health and Safety of Pupils
“The quality of pastoral care, which was already a strong feature of the provision at the time of the last inspection, is excellent and good attention is given to pupils’ welfare, health and safety. Staff know, and relate very well to their pupils. Positive relationships which promote effective learning and a caring atmosphere prevail, so that pupils feel confident and secure, in fulfilment of the school’s aims.”
The Quality of Links with Parents and the Community
“The responses received to the parents’ pre-inspection questionnaire were overwhelmingly supportive and praised highly the school’s curriculum, teaching, support and guidance. Very few parents expressed any dissatisfaction at all.”
